Mark Suchomel, President of Independent Publishers Group since 1998, has abruptly left the company.

Wednesday saw Science Fiction Writers of America denouncing and refusing to recognize publication by Random House imprint Hydria as a credential for SFWA membership. From Random House on Thursday, Publishing Director Allison Dobson responded to SFWAsaying,  “we strongly disagree, and wish you had contacted us before you published your posts.”

In other news, Hyperion confirmed that it is looking to sell some of its backlist titles.
